I’m frankly surprised by the show. There’s stupid things - there’s - sorry people who write the show and everybody who works on it and everything, but there’s stupid things on the show that they shouldn’t do. Like, why do they have to say “bitch” and kill all the women? You know? Because there are certain small ways in which the show is sort of gratuitously misogynistic when it doesn’t need to be. When I read the scripts, I cringe sometimes. Yeah, there’s a million other things you could say, you don’t need to do this. Or, um, you have killed every other female character who had more than a two-episode arc. Do you have to take this one? Charlie’s still around! Although she’s not a threat to the boys as a romantic interest because she’s gay.

Misha is such a brilliant actor. I feel if this were in a movie, critics would be praising it and it’d be nominated for a bazzilion awards. You can tell the SPLIT second Jimmy becomes Castiel. You can see the wonder in Castiels eyes, how he is overwhelmed by all the new senses, the smell of air, the cold wind on his face and the beauty of the earth around him seen through eyes not his own.  The appreciation on his face as he learns to use the vessel, he can feel all its strengths and weaknesses. You can just sense he just fell in love with being in a solid human form. THIS is when the seed of Castiels love for humanity was planted. And there it stayed, waiting, until Dean came along and watered it, bringing it life and it grew into something glorious that even God saw as beautiful and worthy of life. Lets not forget Castiel was supposed to be a minor character to be killed off in like 4 episodes. Misha brought so much to the role that 4 seasons later we’re still not wanting to let go.

You know, after this taping this scene, I have to wonder if the casting people, the directors and the writers kinda looked at one another and said. “What the fuck have we done.” “Y’know we can’t let this one go.” “Dude, if we let his outta here, we’ll never get him back.” “SOMEONE GET SOME ROPE!”

But I could totally be off about that.

Misha Collins, I don’t think I can love you more than I do right now.

You know what? I love the entire SPN cast but there’s something about Misha. He is like a little bit of everything and everyone you ever loved.

He is funny and over-confident but he can be shy, introverted and weird too. He is peaceful and he is loud and he talks too much to say nothing, and he tells you stories, the worst ones, the best of all and at the end, you can’t stop yourself from listening to his brutal, I’m-not-sure voice. You look at him sometimes and you know he is playing with your mind, he is acting all the time someone he is not, a character he created to protect himself from people like you, and sometimes, he is so pure, so true, that you just lose yourself between the one he is and the one he decides to show you. And he looks fresh and brand new but he has an old soul, he has been through too much, and he fell too hard, he get up too fast and he made you believe he is all fine but that’s not always true. He is so brave and so strong while he has fears, nightmares and his own Hell on Earth. And he loves what he knows too much, and he loves too hard people he doesn’t know at all -us. And so he trolls us whenever the fuck he wants to and he gives us opportunities and ideas and hopes. And he help us everyday without knowing it, or without believing it, at least. He is too good, and too and too and too everything. Finally, he is just a normal guy who does an amazing job and uses it to get to normal people, and to change them forever. And it makes him so much more than just an actor.

So yeah, there’s something about Misha.

“Misha had such a take on Castiel that it really threw me, because I didn’t know him well enough to know that this was an actor making a specific choice for his character. Which, to be honest, for a television series a lot of people just come on and act, but they don’t really sit down and make a choice for a character, like ‘I want to take it this way and I want to do something that’s completely not me and make a character out of it.’ They’ll just come on and play themselves, and that’s usually why they get the role. But Misha did something special. At first I was like, ‘Oh no, what is he doing? Why is he acting so weird? Is this guy really like this? Is this who we’re going to deal with?’ Then I got to know him and he’s a cool, laid back guy. It was very exciting for me to know that I was going to be working with somebody who could really make a committed choice to a character. And it worked - I loved it! I was caught off guard at first, and it took me a little while to get used to what he was doing, but that actually played well for the character because Dean would’ve been caught off guard by an angel as well. #god it will always baffle me how even though they’re played by the same actor jimmy and cas look COMPLETELY different with their facial expression and everything #misha why are you such a perfect actor?

When I was rewatching this I was literally thinking of them as separate actors before realizing no, that is misha both times
