remember when that happened and people still think he’s straight. Yeah. Those people are wrong.
Seriously, what is SO WRONG with Dean being a bisexual male character?! So fucking tired of this shit. People need to gtfo this. Dean is bi. It’s blatantly obvious by now, I don’t understand how you can’t see all those signals… The only reason the writers haven’t dove into this dynamic sooner for Dean is for fear of viewers homophobia and loss of ratings. Which is why they have very obviously been tiptoeing forward so that it’s not so in your face but still there for you to notice. And isn’t that the fucking point? To show a fucking character who is strong, courageous, male and manly and sexy, and oh hey guess what he’s bisexual too but don’t you think for a goddamn second that that takes anything away from that character or makes him in the least less manly because guess the fuck what, being bi or gay DOESN’T MAKE YOU LESS OF A MAN! And it’s time for society to stop thinking it does. Because the story and plot of a character, and the central core of a person and their life HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION. AND IT SHOULDN’T MATTER. BEING GAY OR BI OR PANS DOES NOT MAKE A MAN LESS MANLY. That’s the goddamn point. And I for one am certainly ready for a strong bisexual character in a television show that is NOT stereotyped to high fucking heaven and whose plot and focus of story does NOT revolve around their sexuality and doesn’t fucking stereotype bi people as sex crazed fiends And I feel that Dean is a step forward in that direction. I wish people would realize how important it is for the LGBT community to have media representation in television that is NOT stereotypical or whose story-line and plot don’t just revolve entirely around the fact that the character is gay. This is important.
I actually don’t think deans character is bisexual, I think his reaction in this scene is more shocked and uncomfortable than shocked and attracted and the fandom is just grasping at straws also i think he gets so mad at our little jew friend here because it hurt his ego that he wasn’t actually being hit on, however I do wish he was bi because DESTIEL and i agree with absolutely everything this person is saying! (apart from him actually being bi which doesn’t really matter and is just opinion) anyway, 4 for you assbut-in-the-garrison
I respect your opinion. However, let me point out a few things that just might give you a bit more hope in our ship and in the idea that Dean is either bisexual or at least bi-curious.
1. Dean has been hit on by men in the past and has never reacted this awkward before. I personally do not see shock in those expressions. I see perhaps a little surprise, probably because it’s been so long since he’s thought about romance with anyone because of Lisa and oh also the last time he hooked up with a woman he had a daughter who became a teenager in a matter of 3 days and attempted to murder him and she had to be killed. Nonetheless, I see him expressing a certain awkwardness we haven’t witnessed in Dean before when it comes to being hit on by men or women. Example:
Here he thinks he is getting hit on by a man. He doesn’t stumble over his response whatsoever. He is easily flattered and compliments the man only to proceed with telling him directly after the compliment that, “I don’t bat for your team.”
Look how flustered/awkward/nervous Dean becomes now:
And excuse me, but I also think his expression has a look of intrigue as well. But again, maybe that’s just me.
2. Here we witness Dean, very blatantly checking out the penis of another man.
And sure, we could just write that off as innocent curiosity. But at the same time, I don’t know many heterosexual men who would do a thing like this, no matter what the circumstances were. But for the sake of not grasping at straws, I will admit that this may just be innocent curiosity in this episode because he wanted to see how big the man’s dick really was perhaps due to what was happening in that episode. (I can’t recall exactly what that was though…)
3. Here we witness Dean very obviously checking out a man.
I don’t think anything else needs to be said… Except that Dean seems to like a man in uniform…lol
4. Now this:
Now, I would just brush this off because obviously a man can say he likes another man and it not mean anything…. if it weren’t for the expressions of Bobby and Sam’s faces when they react to Dean saying this. As if there is some kind of undertone to Dean saying this. Other than that though, I may be looking into this too deeply and that I can see.
5. Again, we have Dean checking out/flirting with another man.
Now yes, Dean is a bit drunk here. But hey, a drunk mind speaks a sober tongue. And I think this here is very plain obvious that the way Dean is looking at this boy here that he has some kind of interest in his expression that’s a bit more than friendly… And then before Sam drags him away from the cutie, with a smile on his face, Dean tells the boy that he’s awesome. I mean, come on. I’ve watched this little scene a few times and I just don’t understand why a man would act that way towards another man, smile that wide and act that giddy, if he wasn’t just a little interested in men or at least bi-curious.
6. Dean acting like a school girl with a crush when Dr. Sexy walks up:
Please. Need I say anything at all about this scene? lol I mean come on. I don’t know any completely straight man who would get this giddy about another man, let alone the fact that Dean watches a show called Dr. Sexy which btw, in case you don’t know, is a spoof of Grey’s Anatomy… and though this is pretty random, the doctor in Grey’s anatomy who this is sort of making fun of a bit is McDreamy, played by Patrick Dempsey, who happened to be in a movie with Jensen Ackles where they both played a bisexual couple having a threesome relationship with Marilyn Monroe. Oh and the name of Dempsey’s character in that movie with Jensen… was “Cas.”
7.
And last but not least:
Dean when he gets a boner for a woman:
And then with a man (Cas):
To me, this is the cherry on top of the icing on top of the ice cream on top of the cake. I mean, he goes through almost the exact same motions with the woman in the top gif as he does with Cas in the bottom. These signals of dean’s bicuriosity/bisexuality are there for anyone to see. You just have to look. They’re not throwing it in your face. They are giving us small signs and building it up slowly. And these are only a few of the things I’ve seen, this does not cover all the other signs and signals and undertones many of us have found. And believe me, there are more.
Later after this moment Dean looks at Cas like:
Now if that’s not a man checking out another man, I don’t know what is.
In later episodes of season 8 we have Dean giving Cas these sort of looks/stares again:
Notice the way Dean’s eyes sort of glance down and then up like he’s looking either at Cas’s figure or lips..?
Of course, we have plenty of these sort of looks/stares in previous seasons as well. But I feel this season there has been a bit more of a longing coming from Dean than we’ve ever witnessed before.
And I’ve said it before and I will say it again, it just irks me when people say destiel shippers are grasping at straws. Especially when it’s coming from a fellow destiel shipper, no offence but… that doesn’t help our case at all. People always make us out to be crazy, and many even call us perverts. And that’s really fucked up because I’m not a pervert…. well okay maybe a little bit but not about this!
I’m honestly just invested in a character who, to me, is just so suppressed due to his upbringing and pressures from society’s standard of what defines a man, that he is afraid of even admitting to himself the possibility of being interested in men. I’m invested in a love story. I’m invested in an epic relationship between a man and his guardian angel, an angel who not only fought for forty years to rescue Dean from hell, but who rebelled against his entire species, started a war in heaven, fought against an archangel who has already killed him once before and almost eradicated his entire race and devastated heaven, his home, all for Dean… and the idea of free will and choice, which Dean taught him. And I and so many others simply can’t ignore all these signs that are blatant to us. So if this goes nowhere, if destiel honestly never happens, I’m actually going to be really frustrated with the producers’ and writers’ propensity to queer-bate their audience. Because to give us all these destiel moments, all these undertones and signs of Dean’s possible bisexuality just to attract an audience that wants that, is wrong. It’s wrong and I’m sick of this kind of stuff. We deserve a canon relationship and not some kind of “hat tipping” to the gays. Fuck that. It’s messed up. It’s time for a fucking step forward. Maybe it’s time to fucking shock some people into the realization that HEY it is actually ok for a man to be bisexual and HEY look, this character is still awesome and manly and a hero and an amazing human being and he’s in love with an Angel of the fucking Lord and if any of you don’t like that then fuck off cuz guess what, there are plenty of people who are open minded enough to not only accept that but enjoy that kind of story. I’m ready for that. And I hope that is the direction we are heading, no matter how slowly, because we deserve it.

Can I just say how much I love this moment? Dean gives Kali the flirtatious smile, she says no, he tries to start a line, she says no again… and he shrugs and walks away. It’s possibly the only time in all of Supernatural that we ever see Dean Winchester being turned down by a woman (and hell, looking like that, it’s no surprise) but when he actually is turned down… he backs the hell off. Right away.
That, in my mind, is HUGE. Sure, Dean sleeps with a lot of women, and no, he doesn’t know most of their names the next morning, but on the rare occasion when someone tells him no, he immediately accepts that and walks away. That’s what sets him aside from all the other oversexed men I absolutely despise on modern television. Way, way too often television shows portray tough, studly guys repeatedly pursuing women who turn them down until eventually the women give in. And yet any woman who has ever been on the other side of that interaction knows how unbelievably obnoxious and even frightening it can be to be repeatedly pursued by a guy who clearly wants something and won’t take a hint.
News flash, men: if you want to be classy then take a hint from Dean Winchester, stud muffin and all around good person, and when a lady says no, accept that she means no and don’t push the issue. Don’t take it personally, don’t ask why. Just go.
